Pelitos by Nico was born out of a passion for hairstyling that began with doing quick blow-drys for my mom and braiding my girlfriend's hair in school.
I always loved doing hair as a hobby. When the pandemic hit, my mom encouraged me to nurture my hair styling hobby, so I did and Pelitos by Nico was born. In the beginning, I mostly did house calls but I wanted to do more beyond a blow-dry, I wanted to dream bigger. To offer a unique experience. I began creating different hairstyle concepts on myself, posting videos of all the hairstyles I'd create online and the girls loved it! I began to see the possibilities with Pelitos by Nico. I wanted my girls to not only enjoy their experience in the chair with me, but to walk away feeling like all their hair dreams had come true. Little by little the amount of clients I saw started to increase. When “concert season” approached in Puerto Rico, I created a multitude of themed hairstyles that were unique, and I quickly became the go-to girl for hair styling for every occasion in Puerto Rico. I had no idea the journey I was about to embark on, getting to do what I LOVE for a living?! DREAM COME TRUE!
How I Became a Traveling Hairstylist:
We all know the amazing Bad Bunny right ? His events are always major and every time one came around my clientele grew like crazy. When UVST came out, as you can expect I created a concept. It was all about colors, butterflies, and lots of glitters. After an amazing 3 day concert weekend in Puerto Rico, I uploaded one of my hairstyles to tik tok. And girl IT WENT VIRALLLL! When I posted I was in Orlando for a concert, the influx of requests on my Tik Tok for my services in other cities on the tour began pouring in. With the help of my mom, who became my full-time assistant, we began to travel to offer my services outside of Puerto Rico, and I officially became a traveling hairstylist with gained recognition all over the U.S. I've since traveled to Miami, New York, Houston, Las Vegas, Phoenix, and Los Angeles. I dream to be able to take my talent to every place in the world and hopefully create a team that will help me expand my business with the same passion that I do. And I will, just wait!
